Its a cold rainy sunday.....spp feels like havin sumthing hot and nice for lunch,but she is so lazy to wash so many utensils after cooking. So,she came up with this idea ~ Claypot chicken rice ~ without claypot, juz by putting all ingredients into the rice cooker and let it do the magic. Less time consuming and less utensils to wash after that. Smart hor? Hahahaha...but actually spg is the 'magician' today.

Ingredients:

2 cups rice, washed and drained

2 chicken drumsticks/leg piece cut into pieces

4 Chinese mushrooms, soaked (2sliced,2cut into cubes)

1 Chinese sausage, sliced

1 tbsp black soya sauce

garlic

Marinade:

4 tbsp light soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tbsp dark soy sauce

ginger, sliced

2 tbsp sesame oil

½ tsp pepper

½ tsp sugar

½ tbsp corn flour

Garnishing:

Spring onion chopped

Method:

1. Mix chicken, mushrooms with marinade, season for 30 minutes.

2.Meanwhile, make soup using chicken bones, fish maw and garlic.

3. Put rice and chicken soup(sufficient amt to cook the rice,the rest used for soup) into a rice cooker.

4. Spread marinated chickens and mushrooms, Chinese sausage, ginger slices on top, cover and cook.

5. Before serving, sprinkle spring onion ; pour black soya sauce and garlic oil over the rice.

6.For soup, remove chicken bones, add in mushroom cubes and scallops, bring to boil.

Add in 2eggs, stir. Sprinkle some spring onion and serve hot.

After sooo long nvr update dis blog, spp is back again! Yeah!

Laptop kena virus n wasn't working for the past 1 week....sob sob lo, luckily a dr. of laptop...so spp send lappie to 'clinic lim', and was done within hrs!

Thanks ya, limc. Hahaha.

Its sunday, a day without Gopal (our cook).....so lunch and dinner gota sendiri settle...and we came out with this 'combination' ~~

~ fried mix veg, salted eggs, tomyam(by yeechin), nyonya ladies finger and beggar's chicken.

Big mess in kitchen, waiting for spp to wash.....help!!!

Whatz for dinner??? Humm.....

Summer @ Manipal

What to do during summer ? Here are some drinks/tong sui and desserts that u can try makin

1) barley water (百果腐竹薏米糖水）

Ingredients:
pearl barley(薏米), ginkgo nut(白果), dried beancurd sticks(腐竹）and water

Combine all the ingredients and slow cook for abt 3-4hrs
add in app amount of rock sugar
serve hot or cold
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2) chinese herbal tea (生地土茯汤）

haha, this is the easiest of all
juz step into some chinese medical hall
get one pack of this ~ 生地土茯汤
then add them with water
slow cook for 3-4hrs
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

3) chrysanthemum tea jelly (菊花果冻）
Ingredients:

konnyaku powder, sugar, chrysanthemum flowers and water

Put chrysanthemum flowers in a teapot and pour hot boiling water.
Strain and leave aside.
Reserve the flower for garnishing.

Bring water to the boil and add in the konnyaku with sugar mixture.
Stir until the sugar and konnyaku dissolve.
Add in the chrysanthemum tea and stir to blend.
Put a chrysanthemum flower onto every mould and fill the mould with konnyaku jelly.

Leave to set in refrigerator.

Remove from moulds when set and serve cold

4)sea coconut (海底椰糖水)Ingredients:
sea coconut (海底椰), apples, red dates(红枣), honey dates(蜜枣)

Combine all the ingredients and slow cook for abt 3-4hrs
add in rock sugar lastly
enjoy it hot or chill cooled

Divide the cup; imaginary into 4 parts. 1st part add pineapple juice, 2nd part, orange, 3rd part Malibu den fill with ice.

~Mee Goreng Istimewa~

Ingredients:
noodles (cook in boiling water 1st)
tomatoes
carrots
celery
mushrooms
curry leafs
long beans
chicken (cut into cubes)
eggs
fish maw

Lastly, push all ingredient to aside, add in 2eggs.

Then add 1 tablespoon light soya sauce

A little dark soya sauce for colour

Jang! Jang! Jang! Jang!

huumm...delicious!

Pink Bling~

Well, anyone who knows SPP will know she loves Pink color. Not just love lor.. Obsess! Everything she owns sure got pink color de. So i decided to go and 'hiao' her pink umbrella (she got 2 pink umbrella) but very ordinary de. So why must we all carry ordinary umbrella wor? Upgrade it lor! Hehehe

So basicaly wat we did is we got erm.. 5m of pink borders. There's alot of other designs la, but we sticked with this cuz SPP's 1st reaction was "Wah... Pink hor!" =)

Pinky hippo also camwhore with the pinky umbrella =)

So, why would you wanna carry an ordinary umbrella when u can carry something like this! =) hehehehe Limited edition sumore~

Chrysanthemum tea @ 菊花茶

Hello everybody, dis is SPP's 1st post here, wanna intro u guys a healthy drink ~

Chrysanthemum tea

Usually lazy ppl (macam SPP) will juz steep the chrysanthemum flowers in hot water in either a teapot, cup, or glass,then dah consider chrysanthemum tea. But dis time, SPG added some other ingredients making the 菊花茶 more interesting ~ more chinese.

Here it goes

chrysanthemum flowers ～菊花

red dates ～红枣

wolfberry ～枸杞

rock sugar ～冰糖

candied winter melon ～冬瓜糖

Juz add all these ingredients into boiling water, till the sugar melts and the solution color turns golden yellow with a floral aroma.

Why drink chrysanthemum tea?

According to SPP's research, chrysanthemum tea has many medicinal uses, such as aiding in recovery from influenza, acne as well as prevent sore throat.

But SPP like it juz becoz its nice aroma n taste. Hahaha

So if u are free, esp when the weather is super hot, try out 菊花茶.
